When we're in a groove, we're getting up early, we're exercising, we're eating right, we're getting plenty of sleep, and plenty of fresh air. But sometimes life gets in the way and we get run down, stressed, sick, and then getting back on track can be hard. Our four easy steps will show you how can live a healthier lifestyle; one that's easy to maintain - and most of all, is enjoyable! By eating the right foods for nourishment and fuel, combined with physical activity that makes you feel alive, you're on your way to living your best life!
Our urban lifestyles can be all-consuming; rushing to and from school and work can make it hard to find time to get your activity quota in, which often means running out of time to cook nutritious meals, which can then lead to unhealthy choices in the snack department too. However, we all know these choices can spiral out of control which is why it’s so important to stop, take stock and make a conscious decision to follow a healthy lifestyle.
Start with the breath; inhale for three seconds, hold it for seven seconds, and let it out taking eight seconds. Do it a few times - we guarantee you'll feel 100% more relaxed!
Now you're in the right headspace, let's look at what you can do;
There are four simple ways for you (and your family and friends!) to lead a healthy lifestyle and get back on track:
1. Get active each day
Regular physical activity is important for a long and healthy life, 30 minutes of physical activity three times a week that makes you huff and puff, plus daily incidental activity will help you handle stress, make smarter choices when it comes to eating, ensure you sleep better, and generally improve your outlook. Join an exercise class. Walk the dog. Run for fitness and fun (make sure you've got the best possible shoes for the task - our Teva range will make it all the more enjoyable!) or simply follow a workout at the gym. The most important thing is to find a way of exercising that you love. That you look forward to doing again and again. It might take a few times to find the right fit for you, persevere, it'll be worth it!
2. Choose water as a drink

4. Switch off the TV or computer and get active
Get out in nature! Sedentary or ‘still’ time spent watching TV, surfing online or playing computer games is linked to depression and can result in poor eating choices. When you PLAN a range of active outdoor adventures you're planning for a long and healthy life. Ask friends to join you, join a running club, or go adventuring on your own. The more time you spend in nature, the more you'll want to get out there.
